A well-designed kitchen or bathroom strikes the right balance of beauty, functionality, and budget. The professional kitchen & bath designers at R.P. Lumber work one-on-one with you to plan a space that looks great and works the way you actually live — all at no charge for the design consultation.
From cabinetry and countertops to tile, flooring, and fixtures, our designers know the materials inside and out. With nearly 50 years of helping Midwest homeowners since 1977, we bring local expertise and honest guidance you won't find at a big-box store.
Initial Consultation
It all starts with a free design consultation — just you and one of our experienced designers, talking through your vision. We'll discuss your style preferences, how you use the space day to day, and what budget you're working with so we can build a plan that makes sense for you.
Site Evaluation & Measurements
Next, our team evaluates your existing space and takes precise measurements. We look at layouts, note any structural considerations, and identify opportunities you might not have seen. Accurate measurements mean fewer surprises down the road — and a design that actually fits your home.
Concept Development
This is where your kitchen remodel or bathroom renovation really comes to life. Our designers create detailed floor plans and immersive 3D renderings so you can see exactly what your finished space will look like. We'll also share material samples, so you can touch and compare options before committing.
Design Proposal & Collaboration
We present the full design proposal and walk through every detail together. Your feedback drives the process — we'll refine layouts, swap materials, and adjust until the design feels right. It's your home, and we want you to love the plan before any work begins.
